Hannah’s first short film Blame won several awards on the festival circuit and was highly commended in the Dendy Awards. Screen NSW further endorsed Hannah’s work by funding her next short film, Search. Search premiered at Sydney Film Festival, screened at numerous international festivals including Creteil Women Director’s Festival, Paris and was also sold to broadcasters internationally.
In 2007 Hannah graduated from AFTRS with a Masters in Directing. Hannah then went on to work in television directing sixteen episodes of internationally renowned series Neighbours.
In February 2010 Hannah’s Screen Australia funded short film Franswa Sharl won the prestigious Crystal Bear Award for Best Short Film at Berlin International Film Festival as well as being selected across all sections of the Berlinale as a Teddy Award nominee. Other accolades for Franswa Sharl include winning the Audience Award for Most Popular Film at Flickerfest, and being selected to screen in competition at several academy accredited festivals including Aspen Shortsfest, and Edinburgh. Most recently Franswa Sharl won the highly regarded Best Australian Short at Melbourne International Film Festival.
